This mosaic art work was created in Ireland with gathered beach pebbles of basalt, jasper, serpentine and agates all of which are polished by the sea. The negative space in the piece is filled with a very course sand also gathered at the beach. I did not design the shape but allowed it to evolve organically as I added the stones.
