If you're looking for a totally unique one-of-a-kind functional art piece that is guaranteed to spark a debate or two, then look no further—my Dictator Table is exactly what you're hunting for. It's completely individual, because, well, it's pop culture "art" at its craziest and kitschiest, and I for one have never seen anything like it anywhere else.
It's 90cm wide, 46cm deep, and stands at 36cm. It has small wheels at the bottom of each leg so it's easily moveable, but the wheels are lockable so it also stays put in one place if required.
Each 'dictator' panel was designed by myself and then printed onto a sturdy drinks coaster before being fitted onto the table. The red and yellow mosaic pattern is a nod to the old Japanese communist flag, because what better way to memorialize a bunch of immoral murderous bastards? Everybody can argue till the cows come home whether Margaret Thatcher and Richard Nixon earned their place at the table, but in my opinion they caused enough misery and mayhem to be right there front and center--which is why they are.
For those not in the know, they are joined by Cambodia's Pol Pot, Iraq's Saddam Hussein, Germany's Adolf Hitler, Italy's Benito Mussolini, North Korea's Kim Il-Sung, Russia's Joseph Stalin, Libya's Muammar Gaddafi, China's Mao Zedong, Haiti's Francois 'Papa Doc' Duvalier, and Uganda's Idi Amin.
