ARTWORK
Daniela Adamez’ artwork reflects the characteristic ambiguity set in the social and behavioral roles that our modern societies experience on a daily basis. Her imagery focuses on anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures that were initially inspired by pre-Columbian art. Today, however, the recurrent characters and style of her portraits take insights from everything: from her personal experiences, travel, current events, politics and religion to fashion, literature, video games and social media. Using acrylics and oil paints, mainly on large formats, her simple and colorful compositions narrate our commonly shared urge of individuality in lonely settings. Thus, depicting social metaphors and critiques that incorporate bold graphic lines and geometric shapes as a way to establish clear boundaries against reality.
